Germanium
50 +/- parts per million
Germanium is an important trace mineral necessary for the optimum nutrition of the human body. This element is excellent because it raises the level of activity of various organs by enabling them to attract oxygen. Therefore, germanium is responsible for providing increased tissue oxygenation as well as expelling harmful pathogens and pollutants or rendering them harmless. Germanium has an anti-fungal and anti-viral response in the body and creates support for the body's immune system.
Germanium was discovered by a German scientist, Clemens Winkler, in 1886 (thus the name, Germanium). Its health contributions were recently discovered by Japanese researchers who found germanium to be an effective antioxidant that can improve disorders like rheumatism, high cholesterol, infections, food allergies and pain.
Research has recently been performed on germanium for its ability to fight cancer. Enhancement of natural killer cells and T-suppressor cells can ward off reduced immune status diseases like arthritis, osteoporosis, cirrhosis, leukemia, and of course, cancer.
